Redroad FM
Redroad FM is a community radio station covering South Rotherham. Following four successful FM radio broadcasts, we are currently looking towards broadcasting opportunities and training for the coming year.

Redroad FM specialises in giving out local information and covering issues that are ‘right up your street’. A variety of local news and events, some with a youth element including live music and interviews are encouraged. We are on air from Monday 3rd March to Sunday 30th March 2008. This is after recently being on air from Monday 15th October to Sunday 11th November 2007 so this covered the schools half term holiday and involved lots of organisations and individuals!
What can I do?
You can gain skills in Interview techniques and use these to interview local people on a range of topics. You will shortly be able to click on Audio Archives to listen to previous examples. We offer the opportunity to devise and present a mixture of shows becoming part of the Redroad FM team. You will be able to gain technical experiences in using and setting up a professional studio, portable recording equipment and digital editing (check out our tackle on the Equipment and Facilities section) Another area that you can get directly involved in is giving out information about what’s happening with the radio at various events and creatively marketing the station.
Getting on Air
Free training sessions will be offered to everyone in order to get on air and online. If you are aged between 13 and 19 you will be able to gain free accredited training in Radio and Interview Techniques. For a list of training available look at our Training section.
