Band Development

Redroad Music offers opportunities to young people in South Rotherham to work together on the Band Development programme. Bands work towards Open College Network accreditation over a six or twelve month period. The course involves improving instrument playing skills, rehearsing as a band and working on song composition, often covering issues that affect young people. The programme leads to public performances. Examples of these are: performing at The Rotherham Show in front of a cheering crowd of 200 people. Playing locally at events and on the radio. One band 'Silent Sundays' have even supported the 'Cast Offs' theatre group and played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2006, so there are opportunities to get involved and play to an audience.
